Well, the boxes are gradually making their way from inside the house to the car port. Having been emptied of  their contents, they now sit in under the recycle bin, awaiting the next stage in their journey. Without putting too fine an edge on the analogy, it occurs to me that they represent my life in some ways. I don’t mean to suggest that I am being recycled, at least not in the usual sense. Although I do believe that I am standing at the threshold of a new beginning, as are we all.An example of this is found in an experience that I had just the other day. I was conversing with a lady who had just discovered that I was going to be a District Superintendent and I chuckled at what she said. “So, you’re leaving the ministry,” she said. I quickly pointed out that I
wasn’t leaving the ministry but I was just moving into another kind of ministry. Life and ministry is changing however, the business is still the same. Whether we are in the local church or in the District Office, our purpose is still the same. We are about the business of making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. That has been my commitment for over 31 years of ministry and it continues to be so. I look forward to this new journey upon which we now embark. Thank you for the encouragement that you have already given me and for the evidence of the prayers you have offered on my behalf. Please be assured of my prayers for you. As we stand side by side in God’s vineyard I pray that we will remain faithful to the task and I am confident that we will see God’s power revealed. Thank you for answering yes to God’s call upon your life and may God continue to guide us along the path God has set before us.

Still in one Peace,
Francis Daniel
Wilmington District Superintendent
